Govn’t to take measures to support socially vulnerable population

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The government of Uzbekistan is tasked to take measures of state support to socially vulnerable segments of the population.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On priority measures for liberalization of monetary policy” on 2 September 2017.
Uzbek leader instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to strengthen measures of state support to socially vulnerable segments of the population by increasing the number of beneficiaries in families with children under the age of 14 on average by 1.5 times in 2017-2018, and recipients of material assistance to low-income families on average by 2 times .
The President also ordered to organize paid public works for improvement of settlements, mahallas, cleaning of irrigation ditches, irrigation networks, repair of housing and communal services, improvement of infrastructure, repair of roads and streets for unemployed citizens.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to take additional measures to provide financial support to low-income families, including repair or purchase of housing, cattle, poultry and household appliances, for particular families in need of state support, at the expense of the State Budget, the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan and the Charitable Public Fund of Uzbekistan “Mahalla”.
