Uzbekistan works on establishing organized labor migration to Novosibirsk region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the Agency for External Labor Migration under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan are visiting the regions of the Russian Federation to discuss issues related to implementation of an agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation on organized recruitment labour migrants.
On 31 July, in Novosibirsk, the Uzbek delegation held a presentation on the theme “Main directions of the Uzbek-Russian cooperation in the field of labor migration”, the press service of the Ministry of Labor said.
The event was attended by representatives of leading companies of Novosibirsk region, as well as major employers, engaged in construction, agriculture, as well as heads of recruitment agencies and insurance companies.
The Uzbek delegation informed the participants on opportunities and conditions for employment, measures taken to prevent illegal labor migration of Uzbek citizens, as well as implementation of the agreement on the organization.
On 1 August 2017, the Uzbek delegation met with the Deputy Minister of Labor, Employment and Labor Resources of Novosibirsk region Nadezhda Tsvetkova.
The meeting was also attended by interior and foreign affairs bodies, administration of Novosibirsk region.
The Uzbek side briefed the Russian officials on current state of cooperation in the field of labor migration with Russia, as well as about the tasks and functions of the Agency.
According to official Russian data, about 20,000 citizens of Uzbekistan received a patent on the territory of Novosibirsk region in 2016, and another 12,000 citizens – in the first half of 2017.
The Russian side expressed its readiness to establish cooperation with the General Consulate of Uzbekistan and the Agency for External Labor Migration under the Ministry of Labor of Uzbekistan in organization of legal labor migration and combating illegal migration.
On the same day, the Uzbek delegation met with the leadership of Wholesale and retail center NORDMOL. The Uzbek delegation familiarized with conditions, created for labor migrants.
The sides expressed readiness of cooperation in the field of organized labor migration of citizens of Uzbekistan.
