Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyayev held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev in Samarkand.
During the meeting, Dmitry Medvedev said: “I hope that we will continue to work over of all complexes of issues of our cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan, over which worked the First President of Uzbekistan for a long time and fruitfully.”
Shavkat Mirziyayev said that the sides will strengthen that foundation, which was laid by Islam Karimov and Vladimir Putin. The work should be continued and the sides should carried out inventory of our projects and documents, he said.
“We will promote all projects, outlined by Islam Karimov, with our Russian friends and continue to go forward. We have much in common. Islam Karimov and leaders of Russia made a lot to achieve current level of relations. As you mentioned correctly, we should strengthen of our allied relations. You noted that you are ready to this and we are ready as well,” Uzbek Prime Minister said.
Shavkat Mirziyayev also expressed gratitude to his colleague for his participation in funeral events in the connection with the death of the President Islam Karimov.
He underlined that the First President of Uzbekistan was a great person, who devoted himself till last minute of life to his people and country.
