Jizzakh region’s economy grows by 8.9%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Gross regional product (GRP) of Jizzakh region grew by 8.9% in January-September 2015. This was announced at the session of local Council.
The region’s industrial output rose by 13.7%, agriculture production – 6.8%, construction works – 11.1% and retail trade – 19.3%.
Some 959 new small businesses were created in the region in nine months of 2015. Their share in GRP reached 81.6%.
The commercial banks provided loans for 284.7 billion soums to small businesses, including almost 58 billion soums to development of industry. In the result, 172 projects were implemented in industry, 618 – agriculture and 628 - service sector.
Within the localization programme, five enterprises produced goods for 44.6 billion soums.
The region constructed 234 new houses on standard projects at 15 blocks. Some 19 km of electricity networks, 22.9 km of gas pipelines, 22.6 km of water pipelines, 8 markets and other social objects were built at these blocks.
