Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan ink contracts for US$27m

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan signed contracts for US$27 milion, National Agency for Export and Invetsments KAZNEX INVEST said.
A trade mission of Kazakh producers, organized by KAZNEX INVEST of the Ministry of Investments and Development of Kazakhstan and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, was held in Tashkent on 17 September 2015.
Representatives of 25 enterprises of machinery, chemical, construction, pharmaceutical, food, metallurgy industries held talks with the Uzbek companies on supply of goods to Uzbekistan.
In the result of the talks, the sides signed agreements for US$27 million on export of transformers, pharmaceutical, painting, PET performs,packaging, software and others products from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.
Aktobe rail and structural steel mill, in particular, signed agreements for supply of structural shapes for US$15 million in 2016.
Uzbek side also expressed interest in purchasing space pictures from Kazakh satellites and the sides can sign agreement in late November in Astana.
Amitech Astana signed a contract to supply GRP pipes to Uzbekistan for the sum of US$3 million, the agency said.
Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan made up US$2.1 billion in 2014, of which exports of Kazakhstan made up US$1.1 billion.
