IMF: Uzbekistan’s GDP in 2016 to grow by 7%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth of gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan will grow by 7% in 2016, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasted.
According to the IMF, economy of Uzbekistan will grow by 6.7% in 2017. The GDP of Uzbekistan will increase by 6.5% each year in 2018-2020. It is expected that Uzbekistan’s economy will grow by 6.8% in 2015.
Nominal GDP of Uzbekistan will rise from US$62.613 billion in 2014 to US$89.791 billion in 2020. Nominal GDP per capita will increase from US$2,046 in 2014 to US$2,731 in 2020.
According to forecast of the IMF, inflation in the country will make up 9.5% in 2016 and 10% in 2017. The level of inflation will make 10% each year in 2018-2020.
Current account of Uzbekistan will be at the level of 0 in 2015 and 2016, 0.2% from GDP in 2017, 0.3% in 2018, 0.4% in 2019 and 0.8% in 2020.
Gross official external reserves of Uzbekistan, according to the IMF expertise, will grow from US$24.149 billion (16.9 months of import) in 2014 to US$38.131 billion (19.7 months of import) in 2020.
The IMF said that the gross official external reserves of the country will exceed US$24.436 billion in 2015 (17.1 months of import) and US$27.52 billion in 2016 (18.2%).
