Pollution emission falls by 19% in Tashkent city

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Emission of pollution in Tashkent decreased by 19% compared to 1991. Total load to one citizen fell by 25%, according to the press service of Tashkent city committee on nature protection.
Annually industrial enterprises and vehicles issue over 300,000 tonnes of pollutions, which makes up 12-13% of total pollution emission within Uzbekistan.
The decrease of the emission improved air condition. In last three years, the level of pollution agents are in the level, set by sanitary-hygienic norms.
The volume of tetraethyl-lead blending of gasoline decreased, which helped to cut lead emission into the atmosphere.
The committee said that about 24% of vehicles were transferred to gas consumption. The emission per cur decreased almost 2.5 times despite number of cars rose 2.3 times.
Currently, ten object dispatch industrial sewage to water reservoirs, which makes up about 1.7% from total volume of overflow.
Water pollution level of Salar channel fell from 5.28 in 1998 to 1.48, Karasu channel – from 5.94 to 1.17 and Chirchiq channel – from 2.12 to 1.46 and Bozsu channel – from 1.88 to 1.18.
Solid waste is another problem of any city. Each year, Tashkent produces about 650,000 tonnes of domestic waste and about 50,000 industrial waste.
