Uzbek delegation holds talks at Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Limburg

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the measures to boost trade-economic and investment cooperation, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Brussels participated at the event, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Limburg province (Belgium).
Within the event, the delegation held a meeting with the governor of Limburg province Herman Reynders and senior executive director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Limburg Johann Leten.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Limburg unites 2,950 enterprises, of which 95% are small and medium businesses. Major part of them specialize in production of high technological equipment, electrotechnical goods, ICT, energy, logistics and transportation services. Some of them specializes in providing services, wholesale and retail trade, marketing and construction.
During the meeting, the sides considered issues of developing cooperation with companies, specializing in production of high technological products.
The Belgian side were familiarized with main directions of economic development of Uzbekistan, priorities of economic policy, directed at attracting high technologies and organization of production in the country with use of rich mineral and raw resources.
They also received information about investment climate of Uzbekistan, rights and guarantees, preferences and benefits for foreign investors.
Leten said that he has information on potential of Uzbekistan in various sectors of economy and affirmed readiness to help to establish direct contacts between members of the chamber and businesses of Uzbekistan.
It was noted that that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Limburg to establish cooperation provides information to local companies about potential partners. The business seminars and presentations with the partner states are held. Later the Belgian mission is sent to the partner country.
The governor of Limburg province Herman Reynders offered to hold a business seminar in form of presentation of economic and investment potential of Uzbekistan at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Limburg.
The delegation of Uzbekistan also held negotiations with the management of such Belgian companies Prefamac, Ваru n.v., Metrotile, Europower, etc.
Sergio Canini, general manager of Metrotile, said Uzbekistan is attractive country for the company. He said the company is ready to discuss with interested companies in Uzbekistan on cooperation and supply of roofing products. He said that if there is demand and potential for products, it can invest into creation of production capacities in Uzbekistan.
At the meeting with the Lucas Heylands, CEO of Europower, the sides considered issues of expanding cooperation in power sector.
Heylands said that it is interested in developing a bilateral partnership with Uzbekistan and participate in projects on modernization of electrotechnical industry. He said the company is ready to consider proposals of the Uzbek side on cooperation on organization of joint production capacities.
