Uzbek-German cooperation exchange held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan organized an Uzbek-German cooperation exchange (business talks) at Radisson Blue Hotel Tashkent to boost trade-economic cooperation among business circles of Uzbekistan and Germany.
The delegation of Germany includes representatives of eight companies, which operate in such areas as packing food products, irrigation machines, tractor pumps, pharmaceuticals and food products.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan said that the cooperation exchange among Uzbek and German companies was held at the conference hall of Radisson SAS Hotel Tashkent.
The event was aimed at developing cooperation among business circles of Uzbekistan and Germany, the Chamber said.
Uzbekistan and Germany set the most favourable trade regime in line with the agreement “On partnership and cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union”.
Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Germany grew by 13.8% in 2011 to US$560.2 million, of which US$44.5 million were exports of Uzbekistan and US$515.7 million fell to share of imports.
In January-November 2012, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Germany made up US$458.8 million. Uzbekistan exported goods for US$41.1 million and imported products for US$417.7 million in the reporting period.
There are 119 enterprises with German capital in Uzbekistan, of which 25 enterprises are with 100% German investments.
These enterprises are working in such areas as light industry, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture processing, cargo and passenger transportations, trade, etc.
During the meeting, the sides underlined that priority tasks for perspective are export of products from Uzbekistan to German and expand investment cooperation.
