About 58% of Uzbekistan’s foreign trade falls to Europe’s share

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Europe and Asia were the largest trade partners of Uzbekistan in continental angle of view in the first half of 2011, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
About 96.2% of foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan fell to share of Europe and Asia in the reporting period, the committee said.
Share of these continents in foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan fell from 97% in January-June 2010 to 96.2% in the same period of 2011.
According to the committee, share of Europe in foreign trade of the country grew from 57% in the first half of 2010 to 57.6% in the same period of 2011. Share of Asia slipped from 40.5% to 39.5% in the reporting period.
Share of the American continent rose from 2.2% in January-June 2010 to 2.7% in the same period of 2011 in the structure of Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover. Share of the African continent fell from 0.3% to 0.2%, Australia and Oceania – 0%.
Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up US$12.066 billion in the first half of 2011 (+21%), the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Trade turnover of Uzbekistan with the CIS states hit US$5.025 billion (+29.9%) and with other states – US$7.041 billion (+15.4%) in the reporting period.
