Uzbek-Russian turnover makes up US$1.284bn in 1Q 2011

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia made up US$1.284 billion in the first quarter of 2011, which grew by 55.9% year-on-year, the Uzbekistan State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
According to the committee, exports of Uzbekistan grew by 77.73% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2011 from US$469.8 million to US$835 million.
The volume of imports from Russia to Uzbekistan grew from US$353.5 million in January-March 2010 to US$448.6 million in the same period of 2011. The growth rate made up 26.9%.
Russian was the largest trade partner of Uzbekistan in the first quarter of 2011. Its share in trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up 22.4%.
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover reached US$5.718 billion in the first quarter of 2011 (+32.3%). The trade turnover with the CIS states made up US$2.228 billion and other countries – US$3.49 billion.
