Uzbekistan takes first place on GDP growth in CIS in 2010

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan took the first place on the growth of gross regional product (GDP) among the Commonwealth Independent States (CIS) in 2010, the CIS Interstate Statistics Committee said.
Uzbekistan’s GDP grew by 8.5% in 2010. Turkmenistan (8%) and Belarus (7.6%) claimed the second and the third places respectively.
Economies of Kazakhstan and Moldavia grew by 7%, Tajikistan – 6.5%, Azerbaijan and Ukraine – 5%, Russia – 4% and Armenia – 2.6%.
According to the committee, Kyrgyz Republic’s GDP fell by 1.4% in 2010.
