UzEX opens trade venue in China

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- New trade venue of Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UzEX) started its operations in China, the exchange said.
The exchange noted that next trade venue of the UzEX has been created in Kuitun, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China.
Official name of Kuitun trade venue is Euro-Asian International Commodity Trade Center (EAICTC). The founders of the center are oil-chemical company Xian Shi [transliterated], Xinjiang Group on providing material technical assistance to agriculture producers Nun Zhyale [transliterated] and one of local IT companies.
The center will also render business consulting services to Chinese and Uzbek businesses on various aspects of work in markets of Uzbekistan and China, logistics, as well as provide information to businesses.
Xian Shi purchased license from the UzEX on organization of electronic trade at spot and futures markets. This will allow the Chinese company to connect Single Electronic Exchange Trade System and conduct export-import operations.
UzEX said that Chinese market is becoming important for the Uzbek producers. The Chinese companies purchased goods for US$7.6 million through the UzEX in nine months of 2010, of which 64% fell to share of cotton and cotton products. There are also high demand of oil products, ferrous metals, construction materials and others.
