The Uzbek high-flyers, who have changed their name to Bunyodkor but are currently still registered as Kuruvchi in the AFC’s premier club competition, took an 11th minute lead through Ulugbek Bakaev before Chilean striker Jose Luis Villanueva continued his fine scoring form with 11 minutes of the first-half left to play.

Bakaev struck his second and his team’s third in the 56th minute with Server Djeparov completing the 4-0 victory that took Kuruvchi’s tally to 45 points five clear of defending champions Pakhtakor, who have played one game less than the league leaders.

Kuruvchi’s clash with Nasaf was brought forward to help Mirdjalal Kasimov’s men prepare for their AFC Champions League quarter-final against Saipa, the first leg of which takes place in Iran on September 17.
