Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The second day of the Junior and Youth Fencing World Championships, which is being held in the UAE, has become a historic date for Uzbek sports. In it, saber fencer Zukhriddin Kadyrov rose to the highest step of the podium, becoming the first fencer in the history of Uzbekistan to win the title of world champion.
In the junior category, our representative, who competed in saber, defeated the representatives of Canada, Egypt, Hungary, the USA, and in the final surpassed the German athlete. In the decisive meeting, Kadyrov defeated Colin Hathcock with a score of 15:13.
Today, during the competition, Samira Shokirova and Muso Aitmurodov reached the quarterfinals. Unfortunately, they remained one step away from the awards of the world championship.
