“Zomin Kazan Patir” Receives Geographical Indication Status in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan has officially registered “Zomin Kazan Patir” as a geographical indication.
A geographical indication is an official designation confirming that a product originates from a specific region and certifying its traditional characteristics, recipe, and unique features. This status ensures state-level recognition of the product’s quality and provides legal protection for its name and identity.
“Zomin Kazan Patir” is a traditional baked good that has been made for generations in the Zomin district of Jizzakh region. It is baked in a kazan (a type of cauldron) using a special dough prepared with local milk and butter, which gives the bread its distinctive flavor and high consumer appeal.
With its registration in the State Register of Geographical Indications of Uzbekistan, “Zomin Kazan Patir” has become the 20th product whose name and characteristics are officially protected by law.
