Ziraat Bank plans to buy stake of Agrobank in UTBANK
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Ziraat Bank of Turkey plans to acquire the share of Agrobank in UTBANK, the head of Enterprise Architecture Group of the Turkish bank Ilker Met stated, Anadolu agency reported.
He said that now the share of Ziraat Bank in UTBANK is 50%. Agrobank holds a 50% stake in the Uzbek-Turkish bank.
According to him, the Turkish bank intends to purchase the share of the Uzbek side. Met noted that Agrobank and Ziraat Bank have already signed a preliminary agreement on the acquisition of a stake in UTBANK.
Ilker Met noted that after signing of the agreement, the parties plan to complete the deal. The Turkish bank plans to start operations in Uzbekistan in 2018 under the brand Ziraat Bank-Uzbekistan.
The head of the Enterprise Architecture Group added that UTBANK is making a huge contribution to development of trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey.
