Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 August, at a regular press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian stated that China hopes and is confident that Belarus is able to ensure political stability and public order and peace on its own, on its own.

Zhao Litian stressed that China and Belarus are all-encompassing strategic partners that trust each other, their cooperation is pragmatic and mutually beneficial. The PRC respects the path of development chosen by the Belarusian people in accordance with the current situation in the country, and also respects the efforts of the president and the government aimed at protecting national sovereignty and independence, and ensuring the country's security and development.
