Zeromax said on its Web site that exploration at the field was carried out in accordance with the agreement with Uzbek state energy company Uzbekneftegas. The company said it was seeking approval and license from the Uzbek authorities for a hydrocarbon project at the Nishan field.

The Central Asian state’s total natural gas reserves are estimated at 6.25 trillion cubic meters. Its annual production is around 55 billion cubic meters.
