Ambassador handed over copies of credentials, the press-service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said. At this post, Yuri Sterk replaced Ambassador Norbert Jousten, who has worked in Uzbekistan from January 2012.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on wide-range of actual issues, related to relations between Uzbekistan and European Union, as well as international and regional issues.

The sides expressed mutual interest in gradual development of bilateral cooperation in politics, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other regions.

It was said that the sides pay priority importance to expanding dialogue at various levels, implementation of joint programmes and projects within the EU Strategy for Central Asia.

At the meeting, the sides considered practical aspects of upcoming bilateral contacts, as well as interaction at international arena.
