Culture 11/06/2007 Young Uzbek actors attend summer theater school in Russia

The International Summer School of Theater of the young actors of the CIS and Baltic countries opened in the town of Serpukhov near Moscow, Jahon reported.

Among the Summer School attendees there are the four young actors from the Youth Theater of Uzbekistan. They are going to attend the classes of the stage voice coaching, movements, mastery, history of theater, and other subjects.

The classes shall be led by the leading pedagogues at the Russian Academy of theatrical art, theatrical institutes named after the B. Schukin and M. Schepkin, as well as the Saint-Petersburg Academy of theatrical art.

For over the span of three weeks the young actors will stage plays guided by the Russian directors of theater. At the same time, the Uzbek hopefuls of theater will demonstrate their plays staged in Uzbekistan.

"We are very glad of coming here and very satisfied of the first days of our "classes", which include the tours and visits to the Moscow museums, watching the plays by the leading Russian theaters," Guzal Sulaymanova, the actress of the Youth Theater of Uzbekistan, has said.

"The youth theater has established good partnership and friendly relations with the Russian counterparts: last year we have been on our tours to Barnaul, Omsk, Novosibirsk, and this spring we had taken part in the theater festivals "Meetings in Russia" and "Arlekino" in Saint-Petersburg. While we stayed in this northern capital of Russia we had jointly staged the play "Parable on the bestowed love" along with our Russian colleagues based on the works by Alisher Navoi. And we are going to stage the premier of the play in Tashkent in August this year," Ms. Sulaymanova added.

"We consider the School as an unprecedented and necessary experience for Russia since such endeavors are regularly undertaken in other countries," Irina Nikitina of the Union of theater figures of Russia has said, "at the same time, this is also a common contribution to the strengthening of the single cultural space of our countries, mutual understanding and friendship between our nations".
