Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A young man in Tashkent has been sentenced for violating laws regarding cryptocurrency transactions.

The 19-year-old, identified as S. Kh., conducted illegal operations with crypto assets through a wallet on the Telegram messenger.

During the court hearing, he admitted his guilt and claimed he was unaware of the need to comply with legal regulations when buying and selling crypto assets.

The criminal court found S. Kh. guilty under Part 1 of Article 155-4 of the Administrative Responsibility Code (violation of legislation on the circulation of crypto assets).

He was sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest. Additionally, the court ordered the destruction of his iPhone 7 Plus, which was used to carry out the illegal transactions.
