Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Young, talented IT professionals in Uzbekistan will receive support from Beeline Uzbekistan, a subsidiary of NASDAQ-listed VEON Group, one of the biggest foreign investors and taxpayers in Uzbekistan. Program participants will be able to attend training at Astrum IT Academy and improve their credentials in the fields of information and cybersecurity thanks to grants given by the digital operator.
Beeline Uzbekistan has collaborated with Astrum IT Academy to assist the program for professional employee preparation. The digital operator will provide 50 grants totaling 1.2 billion UZS to the applicants who pass the competitive selection process for program participation.
The Astrum IT Academy course includes topics for both beginners and experienced information security professionals. They will learn how hackers operate and acquire skills to resist external attacks on computer systems, as well as programming in Python. Theory takes up around 10% of study time, with the remaining 90% focused on practical activities. Students who complete the course get a certificate from the Scientific Cyber Security Association (SCSA).
Age between 18 and 30 and knowledge of English and Russian are required. The application period will last from September 4th to September 22nd. The selection of the top 50 students will be conducted by a special committee comprising Astrum IT-Academy representatives and members of the HR and Cyber Security teams of the digital operator. The course will run from October 9th through November 24th. Those who complete the program satisfactorily will get the opportunity for an internship in Beeline Uzbekistan, as well as employment prospects.
“The digital transformation, encompassing all aspects of Uzbekistan's economy, highlights the need for training individuals who can successfully protect the digital assets of businesses and governmental entities. The IT field's most motivated and engaged young specialists will be supported with the help of the grants we provide. I am confident that this will help them achieve a high level of professional progress," commented Andrzej Malinowski, the CEO of Beeline Uzbekistan.
Among the new program's lecturers are highly experienced specialists in the field:
"The Academy currently produces over 1000 junior specialists each year in IT disciplines like data science, full stack, and software engineering. We think that the everyday collection and use of data security should go hand in hand with the digitalization of all economic sectors. As a result, Astrum has made the decision to include major businesses in this field as well as foreign experts in our educational initiatives. We are really glad to welcome Beeline Uzbekistan to such an important endeavor for our country!" adds Botir Arifdzhanov, founder of Astrum IT-Academy.
Participants will leave the course with a new perspective on creating computer networks, with an emphasis on information security. They will gain a thorough awareness of cyber dangers and hacker activities in cyberspace, including cyber reconnaissance and data encryption. Participants will learn to discover and assess vulnerabilities in organizational systems and web applications, as well as gain practical skills in hacking computer systems and apps.
