Year-Round Compensation for Gas and Electricity Introduced in Uzbekistan — Applications Now Open
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 May 2025, Uzbekistan has implemented a new system of year-round compensation payments for gas and electricity to support low-income families. Under this new regulation, payments will be made not only during the winter months (November–February) but also monthly throughout the entire year.
According to the National Agency for Social Protection, applications for compensation began being accepted on 1 June.
The assistance is available to the following categories of families:
— Families listed in the Unified Register of Social Protection or the Register of Low-Income Households, provided their monthly income per family member is less than 669,000 soums;
— Families not included in either of the above registers but who own minimal property and have a monthly income of less than 1 million soums per person.
During the 2024–2025 heating season, low-income families received support totaling 313.6 billion soums. Now, the program is being significantly expanded, with 1.33 trillion soums allocated for compensation payments in 2025.
Applications can be submitted through the Inson Social Service Centers, local community-based social workers (mahalla), or by calling the hotline at 1140.
