Yandex.Kassa reveals what Uzbek residents buy for New Year

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Before the New Year, residents of Uzbekistan are most actively buying cosmetics, perfumes and sporting goods, but their demand for clothes, shoes and accessories has decreased. This is the conclusion of analysts of Yandex.Kassa, having studied payments through Yandex.Kassa in online stores from 1 December to 22 December and 2019 November, as well as from 1 to 22 December 2018.

In December, the demand of Uzbek buyers for cosmetics and perfumes increased - the number of purchases in this category increased by 3 times compared to November. People spend on average 2 million soums on beauty products (at the rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on 25 December 19). Before the holidays, residents of Uzbekistan are also actively buying jewelry - payments for them have increased by 75%. But clothes, shoes and accessories, it seems, will be rare gifts for this New Year - in December, the number of payments for them fell by 2 times compared to November.

It is likely that this year many residents of Uzbekistan will receive sportswear and equipment as a gift - in December, buyers paid 86% more orders for such goods than in November. The average check for them is 488 thousand soums - this is more than a year earlier (335 thousand soums).

In the last month of the year, Uzbek users began to buy spare parts and accessories for cars more often - the number of purchases in this category increased by 50% compared to the previous month. On average, people spend 4.2 million soums on auto products at a time.

It seems that books will also be one of the most popular gifts for this New Year. In December, the number of payments for them increased by 23% compared to November. The average check of Uzbek users for books is 84 536 soums.
