Yandex Uzbekistan launches intellectual competition in programming and mathematics
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Yandex Uzbekistan announces the launch of a new intellectual competition, the Coding and Math Contest, which gives participants the opportunity to test their knowledge and solve problems from global experts. The winners will receive valuable prizes, including cash awards and gadgets.
The competition is open to university students and IT professionals working in Uzbekistan. Successful participation requires knowledge of modern programming languages, algorithms, probability theory, mathematical analysis, statistics, and linear algebra.
The contest will be held in two online stages: the first — programming tasks, and the second — mathematics. The tasks will be prepared by leading experts: Andrey Stankevich, a renowned coach of the ICPC World Championship, will oversee the programming block, and Alexey Tolstikov, Director of Yandex Data Analysis School, along with Mahmud Sodikov, Senior AI Engineer, MSc MIPT, will handle the mathematics block.
Winners will be determined based on the results of both stages and invited to the awards ceremony, which will take place at New Uzbekistan University. The total prize pool is 65 million soums, which will be distributed among the top eight participants based on their scores.
"For us, it is important to support initiatives that help talented students and young professionals develop in the fields of mathematics and programming. The Yandex Uzbekistan Coding and Math Contest is not just a competition, but an opportunity for participants to test their skills, gain valuable experience, and become part of the professional community. We are pleased to be co-organizers of this project and confident that it will make a significant contribution to the training of qualified IT professionals," said Dr. Bahodir Akhmedov, First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at New Uzbekistan University.
Registration for the contest is now open and will continue until April 18. The competition will be conducted in English and is free of charge. The results will be announced on 27 April, and the awards ceremony will take place on the same day. The project is supported by New Uzbekistan University, ML Community (INHA University), and the Yandex Data Analysis School.
