Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The UzAlert search unit began cooperating with the Yandex Go service. Drivers regularly receive messages on missing people in their application, which volunteers are looking for in Tashkent. If the driver sees a similar person, he can quickly contact the search party.
“We are constantly organizing searches for the missing: often they are the elderly, sometimes children. Taxi drivers drive around the city and see a lot of people. And if they have pictures of those who are lost before their eyes, the chances of success in the search will increase. We are glad that now there is such an opportunity,” said Alina Valieva, representative of UzAlert.
Each missing person report has an "Orientation" button. By clicking on it, you can see a photo, special signs, the approximate place where the person was last seen, as well as a number for contacting the search group.
“Before the start of cooperation with UzAlert, we made a survey in the driver's application: we asked if drivers were ready to receive messages about missing people nearby. Many agreed. After that, we sent them an invitation to participate in the project and the first orientations around Tashkent,” Yandex Go said.
UzAlert is the only group of volunteers in Uzbekistan that helps with the search for missing people. Anyone can turn to the squad for help. The date of the creation of the detachment is 10 December 2020. Today the community has more than 5,000 people.
