Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan now has a life and health insurance program for users and drivers while traveling through the Yandex Go service. The amount of insurance compensation is up to 101.8 million soums. The driver and each passenger in the car are insured for this amount during the trip.

“Yandex Go has become the first online platform in Uzbekistan with its own additional insurance. We discussed the launch of the program at a meeting with the leadership of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Rights Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The legislation does not oblige online services to do this, but we consider this a very important initiative,” shared the press service of Yandex Go in Uzbekistan.

All costs for supporting the program are covered by the service. The insurance automatically applies to all trips booked through the Yandex Go service.

In the event of an accident, passengers and drivers need to contact the Yandex Go support service through the application. They will receive the contacts of the travel insurance company and detailed instructions on what to do.

Travel insurance is valid in the cities where the service is present: Tashkent, Bukhara, Ferghana, Samarkand, Namangan, Andijan, Margilan, Kokand. Recently, Yandex Go also launched monitoring of driving style in Uzbekistan - the technology has halved the proportion of drivers who make sharp maneuvers while driving.
