Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 June, the Yandex Go service, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan, launched the Focusing on Traditions project. The service will acquaint residents and guests of the country with ancient patterns, their history and symbols.

Traditional patterns are an important part of the history and culture of Uzbekistan. But the memory of them is inevitably lost if there is nowhere to meet them in the modern world. Together with the TBC ORNAMENTS research team, the company has chosen ten colorful patterns - now Chrysanthemum, Anorgulin, Rafida and other ornaments can be seen on cars that come to order through the Yandex Go service.

“The culture of Uzbekistan is unique and multifaceted. One way to preserve centuries-old heritage is to include traditional motifs and symbols in a modern context. We have selected patterns from different regions of Uzbekistan so that more people will learn about them thanks to hundreds of cars on the streets of cities. Tourism is also actively developing in Uzbekistan, and we believe that our project will help attract even more travelers to the country's cultural points of attraction,” said Mirzahid Salikhov, Regional Manager of Yandex Go.

“Preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan is a very important topic, which is given priority at the Ministry. We are pleased that Yandex Go is implementing such a major project aimed at supporting national culture throughout the country,” the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan noted.

“Uzbek ornaments are very bright and beautiful. But we wanted to implement not just a nice project, but also a useful one. Therefore, we created an easy and convenient website, which already has more than 300 digitized traditional patterns. One of these days, our team is leaving for another expedition to find and record even more ornaments. Most importantly, digitized ornaments are actively used. And thanks to the Yandex Go team, which, with its initiative, not only helps the development of the project, but also the popularization of the entire traditional culture of Uzbekistan,” Sardor Babaev, curator of the TBC ORNAMENTS project.

Users will be able to learn more about the meanings of patterns in the application and on the project website, as well as explore them live by going on a journey through the cities where the service is present. To do this, the project team has created online guides - they will soon appear on the site. You can conveniently get to any place you like by ordering a car in Yandex Go. So, in Tashkent, you can visit the Khazrati Imam Ensemble, where the facades and interiors of buildings are decorated with carvings and paintings on wood and ganch. And in Bukhara, appreciate the interiors of the house-museum of Faizulla Khodzhaev, decorated by famous Bukhara masters.

In total, the project involves 300 vehicles in seven cities where the service operates: Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Andijan, Kokand, Margilan, Namangan.
