Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Yandex.Direct began accepting cards of the national payment system UzCard in Uzbekistan. Now Uzbek advertisers can pay for advertising campaigns with the most popular cards in the country.
Using UzCard, the users can transfer money in Uzbek soums: Direct will issue an invoice in the currency selected by the user (dollars, euros or rubles), and then transfer them at the exchange rate of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan to soums.
Money is transferred instantly and without commission, so users lose nothing. Processing is provided by Upay, the technical integration of Direct and UzCard was handled by the Payture processing center. Until now, advertisers could pay for advertising only with Visa and MasterCard cards or with the help of a currency transfer for which banks charge a fee.
“We see a great interest from advertisers of Uzbekistan to Direct and we are trying to expand opportunities for our partners. More than 19 million people use UzCard cards, that is, the bulk of the solvent population of Uzbekistan. People pay them on websites, grocery stores and gas stations. To make it easier and more convenient for advertisers to pay for their campaigns, we added this method of calculation to Direct,” Sergey Gershtein, deputy director of sales for small and medium businesses at Yandex, said.
