Xi Jinping delivers a speech at the UN Biodiversity Summit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 September, Chinese President Xi Jinping made a speech at the UN Biodiversity Summit.

Xi Jinping stressed that on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, at a special moment when the world is working to combat COVID-19 and promote quality economic recovery, the UN Biodiversity Summit is of paramount importance to discuss key issues of biodiversity protection. and promoting sustainable development.

Xi Jinping noted that at present the rate of extinction of species of living organisms in the world is accelerating, the loss of biodiversity and degradation of ecosystems leads to serious risks for the survival and development of mankind. We must work together and act quickly to protect in development and develop in defense in order to build a harmonious and beautiful home.

Xi Jinping put forward 4 proposals:

First, to adhere to eco-culture, to increase motivation to create a wonderful world.

Second, to adhere firmly to multilateralism, to unite all efforts for the global management of environmental activities.

Third, to support green development, to promote a quality economic recovery after the COVID-19 epidemic.

Fourth, to strengthen the sense of responsibility, increase the ability to respond to environmental challenges.

Xi Jinping stressed that China, considering the concept of ecological civilization as a guiding course for its development, has set a priority on building an ecological civilization and has taken adequate measures and steps in this regard. In the future, the country is ready to adhere to the concept of a community of the common destiny of mankind, to assume international obligations corresponding to the level of development of its economy, at the same time to increase subjective activity, to take more effective political measures in order to reach a peak in carbon dioxide emissions by 2030, and carbon neutrality by 2060, to make more efforts and contribute to the achievement of the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement.
