Xi Jinping: China’s economy has hope and potential to maintain long-term stable development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping said that China’s economy has the hope and potential to maintain long-term stable development.

It is "quite possible" that China by the end of the 14th five-year plan / 2021-2025 / will reach the current standard for high-income countries, and by 2035 will double the total economy or per capita income, he said.

On Tuesday, the text of Xi Jinping’s explanatory speech on the CPC Central Committee Recommendations for the 14th Five-Year Social and Economic Development Plan and Long-Term Goals for 2035 was released.

In the coming period, there will be many unstable and uncertain factors in the external environment. Many risks and hidden dangers could affect the country’s economic development, Xi Jinping continued, adding that the COVID-19 pandemic has far-reaching implications and the global economic downturn may continue.

He stressed that the goal of medium and long term planning is to pay more attention to optimizing the economic structure so that all parties can focus their work on improving the quality and efficiency of development.
