Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Independence Monument is a symbol of freedom and the unshakeable foundations of our state. It depicts the centuries-old history of statehood and features images of our great scholars and military leaders. The monument is crowned with the Humo bird.

Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the “Yangi Uzbekistan” park and laid a wreath at the foot of the Independence Monument.

Representatives from the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, various ministries and departments, as well as members of the Tashkent public, also took part in the ceremony and laid flowers at the monument.

The ceremony was part of the program celebrating the 33rd anniversary of our country’s independence.
