The tournament is organized by the Kurash Federation of Turkey and the Municipality of Istanbul Bekchelivler under the auspices of the International Kurash Association.

Sport delegation from 50 countries of Asia, Africa, Europe and Pan America will take part in the tournament.

World Kurash Championship will be held on 15 weight categories: 60, 66, 73, 81, 90 and 100 kg among men and 48, 52, 57, 63, 70, 78, 87 and over 87 kg among women.

On 1 December, the Seventeenth Congress of International Kurash Association will be held. The event will consider development of Kurash, championship, tournaments and seminars for 2018, etc.
