Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan hosted a regular meeting with representatives of the World Bank on the results of assessing tax administration according to international standards.

It was noted that in the course of the current mission, tax authorities of Uzbekistan are trained in the method of consulting visits to taxpayers in order to assist them in fulfilling their tax obligations, the press service of the State Tax Committee reports.

The first trained employees of state tax authorities of the capital. The results of consulting visits of 8 enterprises that had previously passed negative VAT calculations in the amount of 15 billion soums were announced. According to the results of these visits, taxpayers corrected their mistakes and passed positive calculations, thus avoiding financial sanctions.

The mission plans to continue the trainings, which began on 20 May for employees of the tax authorities of Ferghana, Andijan and Namangan regions until 30 May.

Based on the positive experience of the first consultation visits in Tashkent, the parties noted the need to continue training. The next training was proposed to be held in Bukhara, where Kashkadarya, Samarkand and Navoi regions will be covered.

World Bank experts and the management of the GNC discussed the work plan for July 2019 - June 2021. The parties shared their views on the sequence of reforms with an emphasis on IT technology.

Summarizing the results of the meeting, it was noted that the time had come to expand the infrastructure of IT-technologies, as well as develop a comprehensive strategy for voluntary compliance with tax requirements and increase the personnel potential of employees.
