Working groups study existing problems at oil and gas facilities

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Measures are being stepped up to improve the efficiency of drilling and repair work at oil and gas wells, as well as to improve the living conditions of workers.

In particular, in order to provide practical assistance to the processes of work in areas at drilling sites, overhaul of oil and gas wells, support for young workers, improve their working conditions, “Working Groups”, consisting of heads of departments and tank farms in the regions, conduct studies at gas deposits and technological facilities. The "Working Group" also included 24 members of the Youth Union.

On 13 December, the “working group”, consisting of young personnel, visited wells No. 16, 17, 24, 20 of the Nizhny Surgil field of the Ustyurt gas production department, gas collection points No. 1 and 2 related to this field, as well as the installation of an integrated preparation of Arslan gas, studied the state of work and the conditions created for workers.

Currently, well No. 16 of the Nizhny Surgil field is being overhauled by Uzneftgazkuduktamirlash JSC. The depth of the well is 4,300 meters, for gas processing, torsional works are being carried out at a depth of 3,055 meters. 16 employees were involved in the repair work on a rotational basis. In the course of the study, it was found that their living conditions, food supply, washing and sleeping cars are in a satisfactory condition.

Spare parts were supplied to a small power supply substation in need of repair and instructions were given for commissioning as soon as possible. Currently, the produced gas from wells No. 17 and 20 of this field is supplied to the Arslan and Surgil complex gas treatment unit. The state of operation of pressure gauges at the wells was checked, and it was found that through a special measuring device, daily data on gas pressures are transparently presented to the operator’s headquarters.

Well No. 24 is being drilled by Eriell, and to date the well has been drilled to a depth of 4,500 to 4,110 meters. Studies have shown that all equipment and fuel products needed for the drilling rig are fully available.

Also, low-pressure gas at gas collection point No. 1 of the Nizhny Surgil field is continuously supplied to the Vostochny Berdak compressor station, and high-pressure gas at gas collection point No. 2 is transferred to the Arslan complex gas treatment unit.

The working group also visited the Arslan complex gas treatment plant. Currently, the unit has 2 technological networks, which are supplied with natural gas from high-pressure gas wells.

Through this installation, 3.7 million cubic meters of purified natural gas per day is supplied to the main gas pipeline of Uztransgaz JSC.

It should be noted that in order to expand the Arslan complex gas treatment unit, the construction of the 3rd technological network is underway.

Reports on the results of the studies carried out by the "Working Group" and the problems identified at the facilities, as well as proposals for their elimination were submitted to the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
