Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 August, an event was held in the capital to mark the start of work under a contract to transform the water supply system in Tashkent jointly with the French company SUEZ. At the event, organized by Toshkent shahar suv ta’minoti LLC, a presentation of the works that will be carried out within the framework of mutual cooperation took place.

In fact, the foundation of cooperation was laid 4 years ago, and SUEZ was chosen as a partner because a well-known international company has 160 years of experience in the field of global water management.

Within the framework of the contract, designed for 7 years under the name “Plan for a fundamental change in the water supply system of the city of Tashkent”, the following positive changes await the residents of Tashkent:

- Smart meters: 650,000 smart meters will be installed;

- Water quality: in-depth studies are underway to upgrade laboratory equipment to improve water quality;

- As a result of the installation of water quality control sensors in the plant’s branches and in the network, it will be possible to control the quality of distributed water in real time;

- Customer service at a high level: a mobile application will be created for a friendly and prompt response;

- Detection of water leaks, optimization of energy consumption at water and sewage pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants.
