Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirzayev announced the start of work to create new railway corridors in the region.

At the Tashkent Investment Forum, he mentioned the launch of preliminary work on two major projects: a railway connecting China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as well as a corridor connecting Uzbekistan with Afghanistan and Pakistan.

These strategic projects will completely change the geo-economic situation in the region, turning Central Asia into a global transit center connecting North and South, East and West, he emphasized.
