Work on the construction of a solar photovoltaic plant starts at the Syrdarya TPP

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the system of Thermal Power Plants JSC, in order to increase production efficiency through the phased introduction of renewable energy sources and the widespread use of energy-saving technologies, positive work is being implemented.

In particular, preparatory work has begun on the construction of a solar photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 1200-1500 kW at the Syrdarya thermal power point (TPP). Upon commissioning of this station, 3 million kW will be generated. An hour of electricity and saved 900 thousand cubic meters of natural gas per year. This was reported by the press service of JSC Thermal Power Plants.

For the purpose of construction and commissioning on a turnkey basis of this solar station on two hectares of area and a capacity of 1200-1500 kW, a contract was signed with Uzbekenergotamir JSC, according to which work is provided for the preparation of the land, construction, installation and commissioning of equipment.

Currently, a group of specialists has begun work on the study of the land plot and the design of the facility.

In the first days of October of this year, Uzbekenergotamir delivered metal structures for solar panels for installation.

The main goal of these works is to achieve energy efficiency in the system, save fuel and energy resources and further reduce the cost of production through the development of renewable energy sources, says Gulom Kholnazarov, head of the production and technical department of the Syrdarya TPP.
