Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Starting from 28 January, a working group led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and consisting of the heads of ministries, departments, industry associations and local authorities has been working in Ferghana region to develop regional investment program and development of practical measures to increase the industrial and economic potential of the region.
The working group, through field visits and direct communication with residents and entrepreneurs, conducts an in-depth analysis of the existing and search for additional reserves in the context of all 19 districts and cities of the region to stimulate investment and industrial activities with the active use of "points of economic growth".
Also, members of the working group study the state of all operating industrial facilities in the region, identify problematic issues and take targeted support measures aimed both at bringing operating enterprises to maximum production capacity, and at stimulating an increase in volumes and expansion of the range of products.
The task was set to multiply the volume of industrial production in the region through the development and implementation of new large investment projects with high economic returns, which implies a significant increase in the volume of output of products with high added value, an increase in export potential and the creation of new jobs. The prospects for the formation of conditions for the development of related industries through the establishment of cooperation ties between manufacturers, interconnected within the framework of individual commodity chains, are noted.
In addition, during the visits, meetings are organized with the leaders of the mahallas, with whom targeted work is carried out to explain the principles of the new system of stimulating the socio-economic development of the regions within the framework of the initiative "Chairman of the Mahalla is a reformer", which provides for close interaction of the leaders of the mahallas with state bodies and commercial banks and increasing their involvement in practical activities to reduce poverty and create new jobs, develop agriculture, industry and services, as well as improve the living conditions of the population.
The working group will continue to work in the region over the next week. As a result, a regional investment program of Ferghana region for 2021-2022 will be formed.
