Women entrepreneurs to receive unsecured loans

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan has issued a resolution "On measures to further improve the system of family and women’s support."

Under this document, large-scale initiatives will be implemented in 2025 to expand women's economic and social opportunities.

Key objectives include ensuring employment for two million women, training 250,000 women in new professions and entrepreneurship, and providing the same number with access to higher education.

Additionally, 50,000 women in need will receive health rehabilitation in sanatoriums, and motivational seminars will be organized to develop entrepreneurial skills.

Starting from 1 May 2025, a series of new initiatives will be launched. In particular, grants of up to 50 million soums will be provided to 1,000 mentors, who will support green and IT projects and help at least five women start their own businesses.

Women with a positive credit history will be eligible for unsecured loans of up to 100 million soums.

Moreover, a guarantee mechanism will be introduced, under which the Entrepreneurship Development Company JSC will provide guarantees for equipment purchased with loan funds until its delivery.

By 1 July 2025, a digital platform will be launched to simplify business operations. It will assist in purchasing raw materials, finding markets, expanding cooperation, and hiring specialists. The system will also help quickly identify and resolve challenges arising in business projects.

From 1 May, a women’s entrepreneurship development program will be introduced, providing support in business cooperation, growth, and selling products on local and international online platforms.

As an additional measure, by 1 August 2025, a financial services strategy will be approved to support women’s entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, a Council of Women Entrepreneurs has been established, comprising leading female business representatives from across the country.
