Winners of the annual Open Data Challenge 2019 hackathon determined

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 December, the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent hosted the final of the Open Data Challenge 2019 open data hackathon.

Hackathon "Open Data Challenge 2019" is an annual competition for developing applications using open data. The objectives of the event are the development of a professional community of software developers, the development of relevant skills of representatives of state and local authorities, as well as hackathon participants from various sectors, the realization of the socio-economic potential of state and local authorities in the field of open data.

During the three days of the hackathon, the participants worked on the creation of their digital solutions, in total 53 teams were formed.

Direction "business":

1st place - Progress Web (procurement aggregator);

2nd place - Usoft (platform for Telegram advertising);

3rd place - Innovation Geeks (online logistics system).

Direction "public sector":

1st place - Komtek (application for the city);

2nd place - Phoneix (mobile application for online booking);

3rd place - Plus (site of children's education).

Direction "social sector":

1st place - Near-Bank (search for the nearest money exchange point);

2nd place - DevMind (a platform for charity);

3rd place - TerraBytePRO (online lost property office).

Direction "transformation and data generation":

1st place - Rootec (platform for collecting environmental data);

2nd place - Aliensoft (analytics of trading platforms);

3rd place - Majestic (online polls and voting).

Direction "data journalism":

1st place - Notepad (analysis of the accessibility of higher education in Uzbekistan);

2nd place - Clown (analysis of the impact of unemployment on crime);

3rd place - Green movement (analysis of the problems of the Aral Sea).

Each of the winners will receive valuable gifts, but more importantly, all participants received invaluable experience in the field of creating digital solutions using open data.

The event was organized by the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, the National Agency for Project Management under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Technology Park of Software Products and Information Technologies (IT Park), the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, the World Bank, the UN Development Program in Uzbekistan, Turinsky Polytechnic University in Tashkent and the Khokimiyat of Tashkent.
