According to the press service of the Central Bank, the contest was held among the commercial banks in the result of 2013. About 28 commercial banks, 837 branches and 4,196 mini-banks and special cash offices participated at the contest.

The competition was aimed at stimulating and boosting activity of commercial banks on attracting free money resources of population to deposits at banks, strengthening resource base of the bank to boost their investment activity and improving quality of the banking-financial services.

The Uzbek commercial banks activated their work on attracting free funds of the population to the banking deposits and introduction of new deposits.

It is worth to mention that the Government of Uzbekistan guarantees security of funds at the deposits of commercial banks in full size.

Currently, the commercial banks offer 250 types of national and foreign currencies. In 2013, the volume of attracted deposits by commercial banks rose 30.3% year-on-year in 2013.
