William Burns to pay visit to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
US Deputy Secretary of State William J. Burns will pay a visit to Uzbekistan on 12 June 2012, the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.
The ministry said that William J. Burns arrives in Uzbekistan to participate at the Uzbek-American consultations in Tashkent.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the United States reached US$65.8 million in the first quarter of 2012 against US$41.9 million in the same period of 2011.
At the same time, exports of Uzbekistan to the Unites States fell from US$5.6 million in January-March 2011 to US$4 million in the same period of 2012, while imports of Uzbekistan from the United States rose from US$36.3 million to US$61.8 million in the reporting period.
