WHO: 12,994 patients with COVID-19 died in the world in a day

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- More than 403 thousand cases of COVID-19 infection and more than 242 thousand deaths from coronavirus were detected in India per day.

According to the World Health Organization, the number of people infected with coronavirus infection in the world is more than 157 million 289 thousand, of which more than 3 million 277 thousand people have died (as of 16:43 CET on May 9, 2021).

Over the past day, 786 943 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the world, 12 994 patients have died.

According to current data from Johns Hopkins University (as of 11:20 am Tashkent time on May 10, 2021), more than 158 million 337 thousand people have been infected in the world, of which more than 3 million 293 thousand have died.

The leader in the number of confirmed cases remains the United States, where, according to WHO, more than 32.300 million infected have been identified.

India is in second place (more than 22.296 million), Brazil (more than 15.082 million) – the third, France (5.676 million) – France and (5.016 million) – the fifth.

According to the WHO, over the past day, 43 193 people were registered in the United States (575 322 people died from coronavirus), India - 403 738 (242 362 people died), Brazil - 78 886 (419 114 people died), France - 20 745 and Turkey - 18,052 new cases.
