Which regions in Uzbekistan have the most foreign-invested enterprises?
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 1 January 2025, the number of active enterprises with foreign investment in Uzbekistan reached 14,871, according to the Statistics Agency.
The capital remains the leader in this regard, with Tashkent hosting 9,676 foreign-invested companies. Tashkent region follows in second place with 1,773 enterprises, while Samarkand region ranks third with 570 companies involving foreign investors.
The distribution of such enterprises across other regions is as follows:
Surkhandarya region – 483 enterprises
Fergana region – 456 enterprises
Bukhara region – 315 enterprises
Andijan region – 308 enterprises
Navoi region – 244 enterprises
Namangan region – 217 enterprises
Jizzakh region – 201 enterprises
Syrdarya region – 200 enterprises
Republic of Karakalpakstan – 155 enterprises
Kashkadarya region – 140 enterprises
Khorezm region – 133 enterprises
The data shows that the highest concentration of foreign-invested enterprises is in the capital and its surrounding regions, highlighting their strong appeal to international investors.
