Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbeks who wish to work in Russia can undergo testing on the Russian language, legislation, and history of the Russian Federation at the "Ishga Marhamat" Mono-Centers in Uzbekistan. This was announced at a press conference at the Sputnik Uzbekistan Media Center by the head of the RUDN (Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia) representative office in Uzbekistan, Andrey Kolesnikov.
According to Kolesnikov, if a person has not passed the test and obtained a patent, they must leave Russia within 30 days. Otherwise, deportation and additional expenses may be incurred.
Given the urgency of the issue, testing in the Russian language resumed in October 2024 at the "Ishga Marhamat" Mono-Centers.
Kolesnikov also mentioned that the possibility of organizing preparatory courses for the testing is being considered.
In conclusion, it was noted that the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) in Uzbekistan assisted in enhancing the qualifications of 1,200 Russian language teachers, creating a solid foundation for preparing labor migrants who wish to work in Russia.
Kolesnikov shared that Russian language teachers from nearly all regions of Uzbekistan participated in the process and could be involved in pre-departure training for citizens of the republic heading to Russia for work.
He reminded that RUDN specialists took part in a pilot project to employ Uzbek citizens in construction jobs in Russia during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The results were very positive. More than 7,000 people received Russian language certificates," Kolesnikov said.
The cooperation between RUDN and Russian language teachers from Uzbekistan will allow for addressing even more ambitious tasks, he believes.
"Thanks to the collaboration between our university and Russian language teachers from Uzbekistan, who have undergone further training with us, we will be able to tackle more ambitious goals than just the pilot project," Kolesnikov added.
RUDN specialists at the "Ishga Marhamat" Mono-Centers conduct exams on Russian language, history, and legislation for Uzbek citizens wishing to work in Russia in order to obtain a work patent.
The exams are organized at the request of Russian employers who have signed contracts with RUDN and send groups of candidates for employment.
Earlier, the press service of the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan informed RIA News that in 2024, the organized and targeted employment of Uzbek citizens in Russia grew 4.2 times compared to 2023, reaching 123,700 people, which accounts for 76.5% of the total employment in 2024. However, the overall number of Uzbek labor migrants in Russia, including those who found jobs independently, decreased by 1.7 times compared to 2023, to about 700,000 people.
