Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 19 October 2023, the International Educational Forum “Global Education Forum: the basis for building tourism” is being held in Samarkand within the framework of the 25th General Assembly of the UN World Tourism Organization.

The following events are planned to be held within the framework of the forum:

Plenary meeting of Ministers with the participation of leaders in the fields of education and tourism from 10 countries. During the discussions, participants will consider in detail the issues of introducing innovations in education for current and future generations. The session will be moderated by Mr. Juan José Güemes, IE University Vice President for Economic Affairs and Chairman of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Lectures and presentations by leading experts in the field of education will be held on the topics “UNWTO Activities in the Field of Education”, “Investing Tomorrow: Transformation, Technology, Innovation and Education for an Unlimited Future”.

At the same time, a plenary session will be held with the participation of 7 speakers from Uzbekistan, the USA, Switzerland, Singapore, India, China, South Korea, Spain, Greece, including Uzbekistan youth leaders in the field of tourism. The meeting will propose a holistic approach that takes into account the diverse needs of students at different stages, from secondary school to higher and executive education, which is essential to meet the growing needs of the tourism industry.

Another noteworthy event will be dedicated to the presentation of the UNWTO Tourism Academy in Uzbekistan.

In addition, the UNWTO Ulysses Awards ceremony for outstanding achievements and initiatives in the fields of tourism and education is planned.

A signing ceremony of memorandums between domestic and foreign educational institutions in the field of tourism is expected.

Leading scientists and experts in the field of tourism will take part in the event with lectures.

Representatives of leading educational organizations in the field of tourism and international organizations from 30 countries are planned to participate in the forum.
