Western Union introduces new rates for remittances from Russia to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Western Union, a leader in global payments, introduces new rates for money transfers from Russia to some CIS states – Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

In line with the client-oriented business strategy, Western Union reviewed commission fees for popular sums of remittances from Russia to some CIS states and offered new rates for money transfers in Russia and US dollars. Uzbekistan is one of such countries.

According to the statistics of the Central Bank of Russia for 2010 and the first quarter of 2011, Uzbekistan is one of leaders on the volume of incoming remittances in Russia-CIS corridor. Introduction of new rates, commission fee in Russian rubles and US dollars in Uzbekistan decreased up to 40% for some remittance sums.

In line with the company’s data, the remittance up to US$200 will cost US$4 and from US$200 to US$400 will cost US$8. Clients will have to pay US$16 for remittances from US$600 to US$800.

Alexandru Badulescu, a regional vice-president of Western Union in Eastern Europe and CIS, said: “We are happy to offer new rates, which meets needs of our clients, sending remittances to relatives and friends to other regions and countries.”

Western Union offers convenient, reliable and fast remittances without opening banking accounts and to money transfer point, which will allow clients to receive money in any points.

Clients can send or receive remittances at 1,300 service points of Western Union in Uzbekistan. There are 35,000 service points across CIS.

Western Union has been presenting money transfer services in Uzbekistan since 21 August 2001.
