Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- With the assistance of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Aktau, representatives of the domestic companies “UZTRADE” and “UZKAZTRADE” visited the Kazakh cities of Atyrau and Aktau on a working visit, Dunyo news agency reported.

During the visit to the city of Atyrau, members of the delegation held negotiations with the Deputy Akim of the Atyrau Region, Marat Murziev, and the Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Social Entrepreneurial Corporation Atyrau, Amantay Aitbaev. At the meetings, prospects for the development of mutual trade were discussed.

During the trip, members of the delegation, accompanied by the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Aktau, held a meeting in the akimat of the Mangistau region. The meeting was attended by heads of the departments of entrepreneurship and trade, industrial-innovative development, agriculture of the akimat of the Mangystau region, deputy akims of the city of Aktau and the Munaylinsky district, deputy head of the regional department of trade and consumer protection, deputy chairman of the board of the social and entrepreneurial corporation "Caspian", as well as local manufacturers and representatives of large wholesale shopping centers and retail chains in the Mangystau region.

During the meeting with the first deputy akim of Mangistau region, Jumabay Karagayev, information about the export potential and investment attractiveness of Uzbekistan was presented. The data aroused great interest on the Kazakh side. Jumabay Karagaev noted that 80 percent of agricultural products are imported into the region and expressed great interest in establishing cooperation with Uzbek entrepreneurs, and the parties also reached an agreement on the development of contractual terms for long-term cooperation of agricultural products exported to Mangistau.

Also, members of the Uzbek delegation visited large wholesale shopping centers “Kaz Fruit Company” and “Asar-S” in the city of Aktau, held meetings with their managers and studied the demand for agricultural products and the level of competitiveness of our national products. During the meetings, representatives of the delegation agreed with the Kaz Fruit Company on the supply of an early harvest of potatoes from Uzbekistan.
